Ever since I was young I have been passionate about design and construction. My childhood was largely spent drawing and helping my father building our family home. While at school I spent my weekends and summer holidays on building sites learning different skills from all trades, concentrating mainly on carpentry and woodwork. I remember my first project was a barn conversion in the grounds of a listed cottage in West Sussex. I had to replace the roof that was in disrepair, cutting in new timbers, felting and re- tiling. From this point on I knew I wanted to have a career in architecture and construction.

After completing school I went to college to study City & Guilds Site Carpentry, 2 years later I was nominated to attend an advanced carpentry course, which I accepted. The course not only taught me carpentry skills but project management as well.

After 6 years dedicating my time to a large variety of projects with time scales from a few hours to a year, including new builds, loft conversions, extensions, renovations, garden rooms and bespoke carpentry work I decided to go back into education and study architecture.

I studied architecture at Portsmouth University where I received my degree. A week later I started work at an architectural company in Winchester and for 3 years worked on an extensive variety of projects, specialising in traditional architecture, design and construction.

I spent a lot of my free time carrying out works both in architecture and construction for my family and friends which is when I decided to start my own company. That is when MEAD Architecture & Design was created.

MEAD Architecture & Design is a London based company.
